It’s a five-star performance from National Car Rental as it bags a fifth consecutive top spot in the daily rental category.

This winning run reflects the effort NCR puts into the corporate market, according to UK boss Lorraine Farnon. “We’re not an off-the-shelf service; we’re very bespoke,” she said. “We’ve focussed primarily on the corporate market for 30 years now – it’s not something we dip in and out of.”

A big issue for NCR at the moment is using technology to take further costs out of the equation, moves that are also set to deliver time savings for customers in the increasingly time-pressured business environment.

Farnon also points to the success of its online service where businesses can set individual parameters and policies for staff booking vehicles, to both save time on getting approval for the transaction and to ensure the vehicle is fit for purpose.
