Land Rover will be partying thanks to a win for the Discovery – the huge seven-seater has grabbed back the Large 4×4 title after BMW’s X5 stole it in 2006.

In fact, was a three-way fight among the premium badges this year with Audi’s monster Q7 also picking up plenty of votes.

But it was the Discovery that won through with a combination of rugged, go-anywhere looks and ability, combined with the excellent 2.7-litre diesel, a great interior, and a capacity to carry seven people that’s unmatched in the sector.

The vehicle’s awards success is mirrored by the numbers finding their way to business drivers last year. Land Rover shifted more than 4000 in 2006, 17.9% up on the previous year, and the Disco unsurprisingly topped the large 4×4 sector. Land Rover’s second win in the 2007 BusinessCar 4×4 Awards proves you think the Ford-owned company is still the best in the business when it comes to off-roaders.
