It’s been a busy 12 months for the company that brands itself “the UK’s leading provider of driver training, assessment and driver awareness schemes”.

In August last year, AA Drivetech acquired Harrogate-based data and management expert Intelligent Data Systems, and then followed that up late last year by buying off-road driver training specialist Nationwide 4×4.

The firm also launched what it claims is the UK’s first specific training course designed to help drivers achieve the best possible economy from hybrid and electric models. These types of vehicles require a different driving style to maximise energy efficiency and regeneration.

But the company’s core business is still the management of risk for drivers and fleets. “Our aim is to reduce our customers’ business costs and risks to drivers by significantly improving driver ABC – attitude, behaviour and competence,” it pledges.

AA Drivetech focuses on risk management for all at-work drivers, licence verification, driver assessment to identify drivers’ exposure to risk, and training programmes for fleet drivers across on-road, classroom and online. It also offers specialist road safety, high-performance and skid-control sessions.
