After hearing a creak from the suspension of my long-term 508 SW that developed noticeably on my recent trip to Scotland (see previous report), I was concerned I’d overloaded the car. However, when the dealer, Charters in Farnborough, called to talk me through the issue after they’d swiftly arranged to collect the car and investigate the noise, it turns out this creaking is a known problem with 508s.
In some cars the lubrication for the suspension isn’t sufficient, so Charters rectified the problem under warranty and sent the car back.
