Transport Minister Norman Baker has called a satnav summit to address traffic problems caused by drivers following out-of-date directions on their satellite navigation systems.
Due to take place in early March, shortly before local authorities gain new powers to reclassify roads, the summit will encourage better communication and more accurate mapping in an effort to make sure vehicles are on the correct roads.
Baker said: “It is vital highway authorities, mapping companies and satnav manufacturers work more closely together to provide drivers with accurate, up-to-date information on traffic restrictions.”
