Rental company Avis has appointed Anthony Ainsworth, previously sales director, in the newly created role of commercial director.
Ainsworth is responsible for all customer-facing revenue generation including the B2B, consumer and intermediary business, as well as post-rental customer care.
The firm said the role was “the latest in a long-line of measures to deliver the ‘Gold Standard’ experience for every customer”.
It continued: “The role will see Ainsworth oversee all major developments within Avis’ consumer and B2B portfolio. 2011 will see the continued roll out of new retail locations across the UK and further progress of the home delivery product. Ainsworth will also continue to invest heavily in the winning B2B offering, with the expansion of the regional and SME sales teams, as the business looks to maintain double digit growth.
Ainsworth said: “The creation of a new customer focussed team is a reflection of Avis’ ongoing commitment to our customers.
“We are bringing together a host of dedicated employees to ensure the business is aligned and working towards the same goal; ultimately making our customer’s experience the best it can be.”
Managing director Kevin Bradshaw said: “We are delighted Anthony will be heading up this new team. Providing the very best customer service possible is a priority to us and we’re confident having someone with such a wealth of experience will allow us to raise the bar throughout our business and the car rental market.”
