Renault is to cut the number of derivatives in its car range by 30% for 2011.
Branded “Simplification”, Renault said the project would enable customers to more easily understand its product line-up. A maximum of three trim levels will be offered per model and the manufacturer said standard naming and the meaning of trim levels will be reinforced throughout the range.
The number of versions will fall from 227 to 159 and the trim levels available will be Expression, Dynamique TomTom and GT Line TomTom.
The Renaultsport line-up is excluded from the scheme, which comes into force on 4 January.
Renault said: “For fleet decision makers the revised line-up should make the task of aligning models with car choice list bandings easier.”
