Ford has confirmed that it is to continue selling its current generation of Focus alongside the new one due to launch early next year.
To be branded Focus Sport, the range will consist solely of a five-door bodystyle with a choice of two engines – 1.6-litre 100hp petrol or 109hp diesel – and a generous standard specification including satnav, Bluetooth, parking sensors, auto lights and wipers, USB connectivity and 16-inch alloys designed to look like those on the sporty ST model.
Though there will be retail demand, Ford also expects corporate interest, primarily from the job-car fraternity.
The petrol version is priced at £16,545 and the diesel at £17,845, with Ford looking to slot the car in below the new model line-up.
