Lex Autolease has confirmed its fast-fit and windscreen suppliers for the next three years, after Kwik-Fit Fleet and Auto Windscreens signed deals arising from the merger of Lex and Lloyds TSB Autolease.
The joining of the two leasing giants to create a single 320,000-vehicle fleet last year meant a renegotiation of contracts to a single supplier where in some cases the two companies had used different firms.
BusinessCar Award-winning Kwik-Fit Fleet signed what it called the “most valuable fast-fit deal in the history of the fleet industry,” valuing the three-year contract at a minimum £150m. The firm had previously operated a solus arrangement with Lex since 1997, and had also provided a range of services to Lloyds TSB Autolease.
Kwik-Fit Fleet boss Mike Wise described the deal as the “most significant deal in the history of the UK fast-fit industry”.
Andy Hartley, head of third party supply at Lex, said: “Kwik-Fit has a strong mobile fitting network that allows it to deliver first class customer service, both in branch, and at remote locations for all of our customers.”
Auto Windscreens will supply nationwide automotive glazing repair and replacement through its fitting centres and 700-strong mobile fleet.
“Offering opening hours from 8am to 8pm was a major factor in Lex Autolease choosing to partner with Auto Windscreens,” said Lex operations director Rick Francis. “Offering those hours delivers a greater level of flexibility to our customers, ensuring that they don’t have to disrupt their working day to undertake non-essential repairs.”
