This is four MPV category wins in a row for the Galaxy, a model that clearly leads the market, both in sales terms and with the regard in which it is held by fleets.
Ford‘s Galaxy outsold its nearest rival fourfold during 2009, and was down only 7.9% on 2008 in fleet registration terms last year, despite the market falling by 20.5%.
Like its S-max little brother, the Galaxy gets a revision early this year, with new front and rear designs including LED rear lights, while fleets looking for a petrol model may find the Ecoboost version meets their needs: the 2.0-litre engine has a turbo to increase power, but keeps emissions in check – power is up by 25% to 203PS while CO2 is down by 19% to 182g/km. The new engine will come with Ford’s slick new Powershift automatic transmission as standard. A range of three 2.0-litre diesels will also be offered, all at 152g/km for CO2 emissions and fuel economy of 49.5mpg.
