Opinion
Welcome to the first issue of BusinessCar, a new magazine, website and series of email newsletters set up to reflect the changing business car market.
No longer is the fleet manager in control of every aspect of running a business’s cars and vans. There’s now growing influence from other departments including finance, HR and purchasing. Indeed, the fleet manager is highly likely to work within one of these.
To keep up with this change a magazine dedicated solely to the fleet manager is no longer appropriate. So with BusinessCar you’ll get wider coverage – information that’s still essential to the fleet manager, but is also vital to finance, HR and purchasing directors as well as other executives who want to know about running business vehicles. To that end, we’ll have the latest news and issues before the competition. Our writers will deliver clear concise facts to help you do your job efficiently.
You’ll see we’ve recruited a few columnists. Editor-at-large Guy Bird will write political news as well as conduct hard-hitting interviews with key industry figures. Contributor Rupert Saunders will cover the latest financial and economic issues that affect business cars, and Bob our fleet manager insider will take a lighter look at the serious job of running business cars.
But you can’t fit all this into one printed magazine, so from today our website goes live. If you go to www.businesscar.co.uk you’ll find more detailed versions of what’s in the paper edition of BusinessCar. Best of all, the website allows us to deliver the latest news immediately.
I hope you enjoy reading BusinessCar. If you have any feedback we’d love to hear from you.
