What’s new
Seat’s entry-level model now comes with restyled honeycombe grille and modified rear styling with updated interior and larger 15″ wheels.
Excellent
Sporty looks and engine note. Fuel figures of 47mpg and CO2 of 144g/km add to its desirability.
Good
Deep boot swallows a surprising amount of luggage. Quality materials mask an otherwise grey, spartan interior.
Average
Despite larger wheels ride is still on the firm side, especially whilst negotiating city speed humps. It’s debatable whether the five-door is worth the extra £600.
Poor
Not a comfortable place to spend any length of time. Rear passenger space – rivals such as new Punto have upped the ante.
Verdict
Still one of the best superminis for the style conscious. Improvements not quite enough to keep up with the best.
