A routine windscreen washer fluid top-up proved to be trickier than expected.
The bonnet release catch, located in the driver’s footwell, appeared to be jammed in the open position, although the bonnet was firmly shut. While I, trying to work out if a driver had caught it with their foot, took a rather gentle approach in attempting to release the lever, editor Young was less delicate, giving it a good old yank, whereupon the bonnet popped open.
The catch still appears open, but pulling it further than it feels it should go hasn’t damaged it and opens the bonnet as desired.
