£16,150
What’s new
Nissan’s cheeky supermini convertible is now available with an automatic gearbox for £900 more than the manual 1.6-litre version.
Excellent
It’s not the point of this car, but the boot is massive. Roof down you get 255 litres – 55 more than a Volvo C70’s. And roof up there’s 457 litres, only 13 short of a Jaguar XJ’s.
Good
The powered glass roof folds quickly, neatly and fully automatically. The automatic gearbox doesn’t sap too much power over the manual and suits the car well.
Average
£16,150 initially seems a lot of money for a Micra, but it’s on a par with other supermini coupe convertibles.
Poor
The choice of colour inside and out can make or break residual values. Our test car came in a tasteful metallic grey-bronze, but the interior was a much less tasteful light blue.
Verdict
The most practical supermini coupe convertible, now with an automatic gearbox.
