Neil Thompson, RAC director of service delivery, has collected a brace of BusinessCar Awards for best recovery firm and best accident management firm for 2009.
Collecting the awards Thompson said: “We track our own customer satisfaction but you can start to believe your own propaganda, so it’s great to get external confirmation that you’re right.
“And the BusinessCar Award is great for morale, it gives us a boost.”
Commenting on the outlook for RAC in 2009, Thompson said he was unsure exactly how the recession would impact his market.
“People are driving less, so there’s less breakdowns and less accidents. However, what we don’t know is what’s going to happen longer term. People are also servicing their cars less. So there could be more breakdowns in future. And the other issue is that people are taking more UK holidays using their cars, so the summer could be busier.”
