Ford has unveiled a new, fully-electric version of its Puma small SUV.

The new Puma Gen-E features a 168hp electric motor, and a 43kWh battery, allowing a range of up to 233 miles on the official WLTP cycle. A 10-80% battery charge will be possible in 23 minutes with a 100kW DC fast charger.

Ford has expanded the Puma’s previous ‘Megabox’ storage area under the boot floor to create what it is calling the ‘Gigabox’, with up to 523 litres of boot space in total, and a 43-litre ‘frunk’ is also provided.

The Puma Gen-E is being made available with a choice of Select and Premium equipment grades.

Standard features with the Select grade include 17in alloy wheels, a 12in infotainment touchscreen with Sync 4, a raised centre console with sliding armrest and wireless charging, a 12.8in driver display, wireless smartphone integration, speed sign recognition, wrong-way alert, and a rear-view camera.

Further features with the Premium grade include 18in alloys, power folding mirrors with puddle lamps and Puma logo, a B&O premium sound system, a hands-free tailgate, synthetic leather-effect seat trim, and dynamic matrix LED headlights with glare-free high beam.

Prices start at £29,995 for the Select equipment grade, and £31,995 for the Premium grade. Orders are open now, with the first deliveries due in Spring 2025.
