Land Rover‘s split from Ford could lead to an improvement in its fleet customer service, according to UK managing director John Edwards.
Edwards denied the split from the Ford Group would dent fleet sales following Land Rover and Jaguar‘s purchase by Indian firm Tata.
“You could argue that we didn’t exploit that as much as perhaps we should have,” said Edwards referring to the group fleet sales operation run by Ford.
Ford previously had a single fleet sales operation run from a base in Weybridge, Surrey. This office ran the sales teams for all the Ford brands.
Edwards admitted: “We weren’t working that closely with Jaguar but we are now. The people who were sitting in Weybridge are now back with us sitting on our floor.”
This move means a closer-knit fleet team and faster responses to business enquiries.
