Seat will be showing off its third low-CO2 Ecomotive model at this week’s motor show when the covers come off a sub-160g/km Alhambra.

The firm is hoping to take advantage of next year’s changes to the capital allowance rates with the 159g/km Alhambra, the only full-size seven-seat MPV getting under the new writing down allowance figure. The long-standing MPV is also quoted at an average 47.1mpg, and goes on sale in the autumn, powered by the firm’s 140PS 2.0 diesel.

The Alhambra will join the 99g/km Ibiza and 119g/km Leon as Seat’s current Ecomotive line-up, although other variants will be added next year.

The new Ibiza gets a low-CO2 version, and the Altea mini-MPV is also in line as it uses the same engineering as the Leon, which is on sale now. Seat expects to find 500-600 homes for Ecomotive Leons this year, mostly to the corporate market.
