Nissan has released the first pictures of its seven-seat Qashqai.
The faux-4×4 Ford Focus rival has been a massive success for the Japanese brand, landing inside the top 40 best-selling fleet vehicles in its first year on sale.
The new Qashqai+2 will be revealed at this July’s London motor show before going on sale in October.
It’s 211mm longer than the standard model and 38mm taller to accommodate the third row of seats that fold flat into the boot floor when not in use.
The Qashqai+2 is identical to its five-seat sibling from the front through to the windscreen and A-pillar, but thanks to the higher roofline everything backwards is new, including a longer panoramic sunroof, standard roof rails and privacy glass.
The rear doors are longer to ease access into the third row, where the seats are described as for children or occasional seats for small adults.
With them folded, there’s an increase of 90 litres of boot space over the five-seater to just under 500 litres.
The +2 will be offered with a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines and three trim levels.
Pricing will be announced at the London show on 22 July.
