Fiat has unveiled a new range structure to be applied to its 500 city car, 500X SUV, and 500L MPV.
All 500 ranges now start with the Pop equipment grade, then move up to the Connect grade, which features standard equipment such as a 7in infotainment screen, with DAB and Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.
The next rung on the spec ladder for the 500 is filled by Dolcevita, with equipment including a sunroof, and Dolcevita Plus, which adds climate control, a 7in TFT screen and sat-nav.
Conversely, the 500X and 500L are available with the Cross equipment grade, which with the 500X features 19in alloy wheels and a roof rack, while the 500L comes with 17in alloy wheels, fog lights, rear parking sensors, and dusk and rain sensors – both cars get automatic air conditioning.
All ranges are topped by the Sport equipment grade, which with the 500 includes heated seats, automatic air conditioning and privacy glass.
The 500X Sport includes 18in black alloy wheels, while features of the 500L Sport include city brake control, an electrochromatic rear-view mirror, privacy glass and ambient lighting.
The 500 now comes only with a 70hp petrol mild hybrid engine, with CO2 emissions between 114-120g/km depending on spec, while the 500X is available with 120hp (140-157g/km) and 150hp (145-158g/km) petrols, and the 500L comes with a 95hp petrol (165-179g/km).
Orders for the updated ranges will open early next month. Range prices for the 500 go from £13,270 for a Pop to £16,500 for a Dolcevita Plus or Sport, while the 500X costs between £19,860 for a 120hp Pop and £26,060 for a 150hp Sport, and the 500L costs between £18,030 for a Pop and £21,330 for a Sport.
