Driver training firm DriveTech has announced it will no longer offer licence checking as a standalone service to new or existing customers.
The firm says that those needing a licence checking-only service would be better served by a dedicated provider, and has selected Licence Bureau as its official partner to provide this service.
The decision does not affect DriveTech customers who have licence checking as part of a portfolio of other services.
The firm has begun notifying its driver licence checking-only customers of the change, as part of a practical notice period, and is encouraging them to transfer to Licence Bureau.
The partnership will also see Licence Bureau recommend DriveTech driver training services to its customer base.
DriveTech managing director Charlie Norman said: “This is in no way an indication of our intention to withdraw from this marketplace. In fact, we are placing strategic focus on ensuring we add value in this sector where we believe our portfolio of services are second to none.
“This decision has been taken to better focus on developing our driver training services and risk management business and provide scope to further enhance our range of products and services that help customers to reduce road risk, save money and protect their corporate reputation.
“We were very impressed at our new partner Licence Bureau’s knowledge, expertise and deep-rooted commitment to supporting companies in optimising their vehicle and licence compliance.
“We look forward to a successful working relationship. Our core strength is in providing a range of services including driver risk assessment, driver e-learning and on-road training interventions alongside licence checking as part of a holistic, full-service provision.”
Licence Bureau managing director Malcolm Maycock (pictured) said: “DriveTech and its parent AA have a first-class reputation in the corporate sector, and we are proud that DriveTech has chosen us as its official ‘licence check only’ provider.
“Both companies have a very similar ethos and values when it comes to reducing fleet risk and improving road safety, and our team look forward to providing a first-class service to these customers.”
