The Volvo XC40 has become the most popular company car choice for managers at supermarket chain Asda.
The model is said to have found a place on the fleet thanks to Volvo’s swift compliance with the new WLTP testing regime. It is the manufacturer’s first appearance on Asda’s choice list.
The XC40’s strong focus on safety is also said to have been a factor, with the model available to drive at Asda’s recent World Safety Day – an event that focused on road safety and driver distraction.
Asda reward manager for shares and car fleet Helen Mansell said: “We were initially drawn to Volvo after it met the WLTP requirements ahead of the competition, and with SUVs popular amongst our existing drivers, Volvo seemed the ideal choice.
“The XC40’s leading edge safety features convinced us to add Volvo as a company car option for our managers.
“Volvo’s safety credentials fit well with our company culture of caring for employees beyond our Duty of Care requirements.”
