Fleet management company Lex Autolease has begun using software by Ebbon-Dacs to handle its new vehicle delivery and used vehicle collection operations.
The roll out of moDel across the 58 dealer groups that supply Lex Autolease with the bulk of its new vehicles comes after a successful month-long trial at three suppliers – BMW Park Lane, Norton Way Group and Swansway Group.
The moDel system enables users to automatically upload all electronic vehicle delivery and collection information directly into their back office systems, or into the Leaselink e-procurement platform, saving time and reducing the opportunity for errors.
The system has recently been enhanced, and can now be used on all Android smartphones with screens of 5in or bigger.
A schematic of a generic van has also been added to the system, so users can now record and notify areas of damage on vans as well as cars.
An inbuilt camera also provides greater transparency and accuracy in relation to the condition of vehicles being collected and delivered.
Liam Gavin, purchasing and SMR supplier network manager at Lex Autolease, said: “The use of moDel provides us with a consolidated electronic delivery report for all new vehicles that we can upload straight into our back office.
“It will improve the customer handover experience, accelerate our ability to start new vehicle contracts for corporate customers and allow much faster payments to be made to supplying dealers.
“We expect a smooth transition with the introduction of moDel as many of our supplying dealer groups are already familiar with the solution and the efficiencies that it generates.”
Michael Terry, Ebbon-Dacs’ commercial head for moDel, said: “We are delighted that Lex Autolease has decided to implement moDel for all its new vehicle deliveries, following recommendations from retailers within its new vehicle supplier network.
“It has become the UK’s benchmark system for fully automated vehicle collection and delivery within the fleet market.
“Along with the new mobile phone and vans capability that we introduced recently, we are also about to launch a number of new features within the system, which we believe make it still more attractive and user-friendly,”
