A new UK fleet director has been appointed by Europcar.
Bob Maclachlan will focus on ensuring that the company’s fleet remains relevant for business and leisure customers, having formerly worked as the firm’s head of fleet procurement.
In his new role, Maclachlan is responsible for the full range of fleet activities, including the development and implementation of the company’s UK fleet strategy.
He will focus on the purchase and disposal of Europcar’s UK fleet, as well as the optimisation of vehicles while they are operational, ensuring that customers have access to the right vehicle for every journey.
Maclachlan said: “I aim to ensure that Europcar continues to offer a wide choice of vehicles, with the flexibility travellers need.
“As well as investing in hybrid and electric vehicles, I will be focusing on streamlining the end-of-rental process to provide a better customer experience.”
Europcar’s UK managing director Gary Smith said: “Bob has extensive expertise of the fleet market, with five years at Europcar and a successful career at Vauxhall before that.
“This background makes him the ideal person to take the lead for the fleet team.
“This appointment forms a key part of Europcar UK’s growth and development strategy, as we continue to deliver the best mobility solutions, balancing cost, choice and convenience at every stage.”
