Vehicle management firm FleetEurope has agreed a deal to provide short-term vehicle rental services for transport giant Maersk.
The new partnership will see FleetEurope provide rental management and damage support services to several of Maersk’s UK divisions, including The Maersk Company, Maersk Line and Damco.
Staff will use a range of vehicle types, from city cars to executive saloons, to support various requirements across the business.
These include transport for cadets undergoing training, temporary lead-in vehicles for new staff awaiting a company car, ad-hoc transport for staff attending off-site meetings, and one-way hires for staff travelling to and from airports.
FleetEurope says that through the deal, Maersk stands to make a projected saving of more than 13% on its annual rental expenditure.
Maersk will also benefit from FleetEurope’s De-Risk light damage cover service, ensuring its drivers are covered in the event of any minor accidents where damage is valued at less than £500 to repair, including damage to a vehicle’s bodywork, tyres, alloys and windscreen, as well as replacement keys and misfuelling call-outs.
Maersk fleet manager Peter Sani said: “Switching our daily rental requirements to FleetEurope has delivered substantial savings compared with our previous supplier.”
