Leasing giant Alphabet has appointed Simon Carr as its new chief commercial officer.
He joins from Leaseplan, where he held the position of brand director and served in a number of roles within the business since 2007.
According to Alphabet, Carr’s appointment completes a number of changes to the management team over the past year, which include a new head of compliance and a new chief financial officer.
Carr replaces Martin Quail.
The UK arm of the BMW-owned leasing company has been led by Nicholas Brownrigg since last June when he replaced Richard Schooling, who moved to an international role within the business.
Carr said: “It is a fantastic time to join a company that has turned the mobility vision into a working reality for customers. One of the most exciting aspects for me will be enhancing relationships with Alphabet’s broad customer base to collaboratively develop the next generation of our products and services. As the leasing and mobility industry enters a new defining era, I am looking forward to helping Alphabet shape it.”
Brownrigg added: “I’m extremely pleased to welcome Simon to Alphabet after a rigorous international search for what is a vitally important position for our business. We’re excited to have recruited someone of Simon’s personal qualities, professional calibre and industry experience. He will play a pivotal role in leading the future development of Alphabet’s commercial activities, new product initiatives and the ongoing efforts to increase our customer focus.”
