BT Fleet has acquired mobile vehicle maintenance and servicing company SEV Automotive and Plant, as part of its services expansion
BT Fleet currently has a network of 64 garages across the country, and said the addition of mobile SMR services would accompany the firm’s fleet management offering, with customers able to save time and money through reduced vehicle downtime.
SEV was founded in 2014 and offers nationwide coverage. Prior to the buyout, BT Fleet did not have a mobile operation.
As part of the deal, 60 of SEV’s employees will become part of the wider BT Fleet team, while SEV managing director, Geoff Allison, will become mobile operations director at BT Fleet, reporting into BT Fleet’s MD Henry Brace.
“This is an important acquisition for BT Fleet, as it allows us to deliver an even better customer experience by offering greater flexibility and convenience around how and where their vehicles are maintained and serviced,” said Gerry McQuade, CEO of BT wholesale and ventures.
“SEV’s position in the marketplace makes it the natural choice of partner as we look to combine the strength of our fixed garage network with a fully mobile team of technicians,” he added.
