Vauxhall has teased its forthcoming Insignia for the first time as it undergoes the final stages of development work in the UK.

Set to be revealed at the Geneva motor show next March, Vauxhall’s flagship model – which is renamed to Insignia Grand Sport – will sit on an entirely-new platform, and has a wheelbase that it is 9cm longer than the outgoing model.

According to Vauxhall, the new model will also be 175kg lighter than the predecessor thanks to the use of lightweight materials, while the company claims it will “make the latest technological innovations available to the widest audience at an affordable price.”.

“Vauxhall is raising its game even further with the launch of the new Insignia Grand Sport,” said Rory Harvey, Vauxhall’s chairman and managing director. “It will set new standards for design, efficiency, technology and connectivity when it debuts next year at the Geneva motor show.”
