Honda has announced what is described as a “re-launch” of its fleet operation, following a 12-month review of its approach and delivery of corporate sales.
Although the company is yet to appoint a fleet sales operations manager – the announcement for which is described as “imminent” – the Japanese manufacturer is expanding its fleet operation under what it calls the Honda Platinum Business Programme banner, which will see the entire dealer network take on fleet capabilities and expertise.
The company has struggled in the fleet sector due to an inconsistent strategy, and slipped to number 17 in the manufacturers’ chart last year.
“The time was right to review our corporate operations,” said Honda head of cars Phil Webb. “We are confident that our new focus on a nationwide local level and the new team will deliver our long-term vision of sustainable and steady growth as well as the delivery of top-level customer service, which all customers expect of Honda.”
