The organisers of the Commercial Vehicle Show, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders have confirmed that exhibitor floor space will be full at this year’s CV Show has sold out.
The SMMT confirmed the sell-out in a tweet.
Last year, more than 19,500 people attended the show, which is being held at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre between 26-28 April this year.
According to the organisers of the show, key manufacturers such as Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Isuzu, Iveco, LDV, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota and Volkswagen will be at the show this year.
However, three of the UK’s leading LCV manufacturers, Mercedes, Nissan and Vauxhall previously confirmed to BusinessCar they will not be exhibiting at this year’s CV Show.
Vauxhall and Mercedes said they would direct their investment elsewhere this year.
“Mercedes-Benz Vans and Mercedes-Benz Trucks aren’t exhibiting this year, as both brands are investing in more segment-specific events, and will be rolling out a revised events strategy shortly,” a spokeswoman told BusinessCar.
“After being a consistent supporter of the CV Show for many years, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles has decided to take a break from the show for 2016 and focus its marketing investment on other priorities,” a Vauxhall spokesman told BusinessCar.
Nissan has not disclosed its plans, but a spokeswoman told BusinessCar: “Nissan will not be exhibiting at this year’s CV Show.”
