Drivers lacking courtesy by not saying thank you when they let someone out of a junction is the biggest pet peeve of UK drivers according to a new survey.

A leasing company website asked 1500 drivers for their opinions, and using a mobile phone while driving was second-highest, while driving too slowly in middle or outside lanes, cyclists running red lights and tractors made up the rest of the top five.

While common annoyances such as loud music and people who don’t indicate were among those listed further down the table of 20 annoyances, there are some more obscure gripes on the list complied by Flexed.co.uk.

These include baby on board signs, personalised number plates and people who turn right.

“It’s very easy for us to suggest that drivers take a more relaxed attitude to their motoring when they’ve been stuck in a traffic jam for the best part of an hour,” said Flexed.co.uk spokesperson, Mark Hall, “but it’s something that hard-put road-users really have to take on board.”
