The impact of the usual summer lull has been less pronounced thn usual, according to vehicle price data provider Mycarcheck.com.

The summer slowdown has hit enquiry rates throughout August, but used values remain largely unchanged across the board. Premium brands are noted as being particularly resilient.

Gavin Amos, head of valuation services at Mycarcheck’s trade arm, said: “The trade is reporting steady interest from retail buyers for both new and used cars. Meanwhile, the premium market appears almost immune to the seasonal dip.”

However, some models are being impacted by the onslaught of 0% personal contract purchase (PCP) deals, with a detrimental effect on late low-mileage examples, particularly sub-six-month-old models.
