Volkswagen Group models dominated the upper echelons of the 2014 What Car?/JD Power customer satisfaction survey. 

The Volkswagen Up scored the highest overall rating of 85.1% and was followed by the VW Golf Plus at 84.3% and the Skoda Yeti at 82.8%.

VW Group models made up a further three of the top 10 performers. 

Jaguar and Lexus jointly topped the manufacturers’ league table with 80.8%, while Mercedes came in third with 80.1%. Jaguar has held the manufacturers’ top spot for the past two years following an 11-year reign by Lexus. 

The bottom three cars of the survey were the Chevrolet Spark in 109th place with 67.6%, the Alfa Romeo Mito in 108th place with 69.9%, and the Citroen C3 and BMW X1 in joint 106th place with 71.4%. 

The lowest three manufacturers were Chevrolet with 68.0%, Alfa Romeo with 72.5%, and Fiat with 73.9%.

The survey addresses areas of owner satisfaction including reliability, vehicle appeal, running costs and dealer performance.
