Fuel card provider Fuelmate has launched a new fixed-price card that’s accepted at 7000 of the UK’s 8400 forecourts.
Called Fleetmate, the new card allows fleet operators to pay one price at the pumps regardless of the fuel brand they are using or where they are in the country.
The new card also allows users to buy fuel at rival provider Keyfuels’ sites, as well as at BP, Shell, Esso and Texaco stations across the UK. The only main brands not covered are Asda and Sainsbury’s.
As part of the Fleetmate deal, Fuelmate will also carry out a free fuel-use analysis for all potential customers to tailor a package closely to their drivers’ existing requirements and fuel routines.
“We have been looking for a way of enabling customers to pay a single price for fuel for quite a while now, and have come up with what we think is a really good solution,” said Johnny Vintis, manager at Fuelmate.
“Fleetmate covers most sites in the UK, so it is an ideal solution for fleets or businesses looking for comprehensive coverage throughout the country.
“We were looking for the closest thing to Allstar, but without the fees – this does that.”
He added: “One thing many fleet operators worry about most when changing fuel cards is drivers having to change their fuelling routines, meaning they drive further to fill up.”
