Lex Autolease has launched a range of Driveaway-branded light commercials with industry-specific internal fixtures.
The move, revealed last year in BusinessCar, is the result of a deal between Lex Autolease, Vauxhall, Fiat and van racking business Tevo, and is claimed to provide vehicles with appropriate racking and storage within 14-21 days.
Initially the plumbing, joinery and general construction trades are being targeted, and the company claims that taking a Driveaway vehicle is up to 20% cheaper than leasing and converting a van.
Models that are kitted out in this way include the Fiat Cargo, Doblo and Scudo, along with Vauxhall’s Combo, Vivaro and Movano vans. Other makes of light commercials are likely to receive similar treatment later in the year, and the scheme will ultimately be expanded to minibuses and welfare vans.
“With the ongoing pressure to manage costs and increase productivity, we are committed to providing businesses with the financial and operational solutions they need to keep moving,” said Lex Autolease commercial vehicles director Marcus Puddy.
“This service will enhance our overall offering, giving customers easy and affordable access to the essential equipment they need to fulfil their day-to-day requirements.”
The move comes as Lex Autolease announced the appointment of Doug Hyett as head of new business.
Previously, Hyett oversaw the firm’s Mega Fleets division, where he was responsible for large private and public sector organisations.
