Jaguar confirmed at last week’s Geneva motor show that its new upper medium saloon due next year will be called the XE and has released a teaser photograph.

Slotting in below the XF, the new car will arrive in the UK in summer 2015, following a reveal this autumn, and the firm has already confirmed it will offer sub-100g/km emissions thanks to its advanced aluminium construction and new engine range.

The XE will be the first Jaguar Land Rover product to benefit from the firm’s new 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines being built at the brand’s new plant in Wolverhampton, which will also be used in Land Rover product.

“The engineering development of the XE has focused on delivering customers with the most advanced, efficient and refined sports sedan in its class,” said Kevin Stride, Jaguar’s vehicle line director for the XE.
