The Office for Low-Emission Vehicles (OLEV) has announced a campaign to boost the awareness of ultra low-CO2 vehicles in the UK. The organisation has announced a tie-up with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and five vehicle manufacturers to fund the move, which will commence in early 2014.
In addition to radio, digital and print advertising, the campaign will include the creation of an online information resource, which will answer common questions about electric and plug-in vehicles and supposedly dispel the “myths” surrounding them.
Ken Ramirez, UK managing director of Renault, one of the firms involved in the scheme, said: “The market for these vehicles is very much in the early stages of growth and at a critical point for continued mainstream adoption and so this campaign is very welcome to tackle the challenges we face.”
