Skoda has revealed the first official images of a new compact Spaceback version of the lower medium Rapid.
The model is 180mm shorter than the hatchback model on which it’s based and has a 415-litre boot – 135 litres smaller than that of the existing car.
Prices, engines and transmissions have yet to be confirmed for the UK, but the Rapid hatchback’s suite of 1.2- and 1.4-litre TSI petrol engines are expected, potentially with a lower-powered 75hp 1.2, too.
The 1.6-litre TDI diesel from the current car is also due, and a 90hp version of the same engine, emitting 99g/km, is expected. Sales will start at the end of this year.
